An interior designers job is to render a space for its ultimate purpose, be at residence, hotel, retail store or an office. Interior design like a sculpture-combine with well-defined lines and forms, and harmonized with the right balance and color, the esthetical goal is to delight the eye and satiate the senses.

As in commercial design work the first essential part of the design process is to investigate what the client’s needs, wishes and dreams are. If there are budgetary considerations, it is wise to make a plan and budget for the entire home prior to starting renovations or construction. In that way, plans can be made to allocate funds so as to decide how to strategically spend the dollars.

As in commercial interior design, a theme for the entire home is important to give the home a unified appearance. In the instance of new construction, good construction documents and specifications allow for good lighting design which is also essential to a well-designed environment.
